BAMF 2's are now back in production.

****************************************************

From the experience flying the BAMF for the past several years and taking a look at the events on the world stage... it seems that higher heights and higher penetration are always required to keep pushing forward. It seems that competition is biasing towards planes that penetrate very strongly with less disturbance from turbulence.

Aerodynamically, the wing shape was modified to be less affected by turbulence while the lift is slightly increased closer to the root. All cross-sections on the fuselage are decreased and the pushrod exits are further refined for a tighter install. In terms of flying philosophy, we feel there are two ways to tackle high winds: fly extremely fast with a lower L/D so you can reach somewhere faster, so even though L/D is lower you will reach the target area quicker and less affected by the outside forces (wind & turbulence), or secondly slightly slower than extreme but retain very high L/D so even though it may take you a few seconds to get back you should get back with a little extra height.

Personally, I am not an extremely aggressive pilot with 40 hours of stick time per week, so I have always preferred the second method of tackling wind. As such, the Vibe was designed that way and if you've flown it, you will know it's not the fastest out there but comes back home with height to spare. Think of the BAMF 2 as taking what the Vibe had but further increasing the L/D and with a very strong launch height ability.

Mechanically, I have always wanted/needed a model that can really break down small. As such, the BAMF 2 comes with a center split 2-piece wing with a fat carbon joiner, with the option of a very simple removable fin that will be strong enough for *most* pilots. For extremely powerful launchers, it's probably still safer to glue the fin on. The nose is extended to reduce the need for nose weight and to make gear selection, installation, and maintenance extremely easy.

Of course, the BAMF 2 will continue to be made in Ukraine where we have had an incredible few years of production success. All models are made with solid Rohacell cores, carbon shear webs, and a high-quality finish.

The images shown are a representation of the model only and may differ slightly due to the handmade nature of the model.

The best $1.2k I ever spent

The BAMF 2 is top notch in terms of build quality and performance. The receiver-ready option is fantastic for those who either don't want to stress over a perfect install or simply don't have enough time in their day to do so. For the time saved alone, the additional $125 is a small price to pay.

As for the model itself, it's insane how well it penetrates wind while still being extremely floaty. I often only need to add between 20 to 40g of ballast but typically run the glider without ballast. While it's expected for gliders to be able to climb rapidly in thermals, the BAMF 2 is also exceptional at working light lift near the ground. There have been many times where I've stayed up for several minutes at an altitude of around 10 meters. Although I am more of a 3D pilot rather than a sailplane pilot, I find myself more often than not reaching for the BAMF 2 these days. It's simply a more relaxing and more rewarding model to fly. I own both the standard and short nose versions, and both times the Armsoar team absolutely killed it.

Another Level

Hey Guys am so stoked most of the credit has to go to Kirill as I purchased a RTR model from a place far far away.

Kirill did all the mediation to make sure I got exactly what I ordered. Which was fulfilled perfectly. 💪.

Your professional build service is just that absolutely superb . Way to go Kirill what a champion. All the servos were set so well all I had to do was set the centres up and put in the throws and she was set.

I was a bit concerned about the long distance for the travel once again Kirill made sure to appease me.

He promised it would be packed very well and would arrive safe. And yes you guessed it perfect.

I was so pleased I ordered another light version. Guys incredible service.

Took the model out absolutely brilliant very happy indeed superb flight envelope a joy to fly.

To wrap up Superb service brilliant model a weapon in the right hands. If anyone is sitting on the fence about should they or shouldn’t they buy one of these models a don’t.

You will not be disappointed.

Quality Build

The quality of fit and finish of this DLG is superb, as was the packaging for shipping. Haven't flown it yet but no doubt I will find there is a reason why it was the DLG of choice at the World Championship. My only quibble was with the corporate decision to not ship the model with its custom made protective covers and with upgraded wing and tail hold-down screws. (Aluminum screws are lighter and are less susceptible to loosening in my experience). I doubt anyone buying a model at this level is going to be concerned about saving a few bucks that could go toward protecting this championship plane. I suggest giving this DLG the same respect we customers are giving it!
